April New Year's Goals Check In

It's that time of the month... time to check in on goals you know? :) Have you been sticking with it or have your goals fallen by the wayside? Here's where we at Thriftism stand:
  1. Take 6 Courses Online (3 of 6)
    1. Teach English: Foundational Principals (Completed FEB 2016)
    2. Teach English: Theories of Second Language Acquisition (Completed MARCH 2016)
    3. Teach English: Lesson Design & Assessment (Completed MARCH 2016)
    4. Looking at taking a marketing class
  2. Install Kitchen Backsplash and Cabinet Pulls
    1. We have the backsplash... No more progress here. (again)
  3. Construct Captains Bedframe
    1. The main frame and drawers have been constructed. Now we just have to add the facing and get drawer pulls. I'd say about 60% done.
  4. Read 12 Books
    1. Down by the River - Robyn Carr (75% Complete)
    2. Friday Night Lights (30% complete)
    3. Still more magazines...
  5. Visit London
    1. Planning is in progress. I have finished 3 counties or shires or whatever they are called.  So much to do, so little time.
  6. Paint Office
    1. I have paint for the office, but haven't cleaned out the room yet.
  7. Workout 4 Days/Week
    1. I have been walking 45-60 minutes a day ( lunch breaks and coffee breaks). Have only done workout videos about twice a week. Not sure what I'm counting as working out, but walking is an effort at least.
  8. Save $10,000 Save 50% of our income
    1. Taxes kicked us in the shins this past month and we have been saving up to pay those this month. Hoping to get back on track in April!
  9. Lose 10 Pounds
    1. Still down almost a pound. Visiting family can really kill your normal diet. Weekends are my worst. Trying to do better to stay focused and maybe only have half of a cinnamon roll instead of 4. Or I will start working out more on the road. Went walking the last weekend we were out of town. Started looking for better online programs to help keep me on track.
  10. Knit/Crochet 10 Projects
    1. Soap Saver, Will be creating a DIY post of this in the coming weeks!
    2. Owl Bib, Pattern taken from Lions Brand Yarn website
    3. Frog Bib, Pattern taken from Lions Brand Yarn website
    4. Shamrock Headband, Instructions on how to make on our blog!
  11. Publish Blog Posts Twice a Week
    1. Still no real excuse, just seem to be busy. We will be having a three part series on concrete cracking and DIY repair coming out in the next week or so along with cranberry muffins (YUM) and how to exchange money in Puerto Vallarta.
  12. Learn How to Can Vegetables
    1. We now have both a pressure cooker and a canning system (boiling type). We will look at canning after we get some fresh garden veggies. Who is ready for summer? I AM! Be sure to revisit our starting your garden. Hopefully you've gotten going on this, if not make sure to order your seeds now! We have all our tomatoes, peppers, jalapeƱos, and some bok choy planted.
How are your goals coming along? What are you doing to stay motivated?
