Birthdays aren't quite as fun once you reach that 21 mark, but that doesn't mean you should quit celebrating. Birthday are still a great reason to see friends and family, but most of all birthdays are great for getting free meals and good deals. Here are a few of the deals I got this year for my birthday and how much I saved.


Perkins:
 Get a free magnificent 7 meal. They have affordable options for others in your party too. A great added bonus is to visit on a Monday (They have free pie with entrees).

iHop

Free Rooty Tooty Fresh and Fruity-- This deal has gotten worse. While you still get fruity pancakes, you no longer get the eggs or sausage with it. Plus there aren't many affordable options if you bring a date. While we still enjoyed pancakes, I may rethink this deal in the future.

Free grill meal on your birthday. Sign up for the HuHot Rewards a month before your birthday to qualify. Plus for every 12 grill meals, you get one free and a few freebies throughout the year.

Qdoba

Buy one, get one. Not as stellar of a deal, but the food is great so I'll take 50% off!

Moe's

Free burrito within two weeks of your birthday. They changed the program so you'll need to download the app to your phone now. Just scan your phone at the register for a free meal! Plus earn rewards every time you eat there in the future. Want to earn points faster? Use code: Ashley8376 when you sign up and you'll get 50 points free. That's the same as spending $5 at Moe's.

Colder weather has arrived as have an abundance of school and work activities. The extra to-dos that come with fall make cooking a healthy and still budget meal much more challenging. Enter the crock pot or slow cooker. Slow cook meals can be both a time and wallet saver, not to mention the benefit of having home cooked meals most nights.
